We are delighted to welcome back Jess Damuck (author of the hugely popular Salad Freak) on Thursday April 25th to celebrate her new book, Health Nut: A Feel-Good Cookbook! Fresh and full of fun, Jess turns her talent for creating obsession-worthy, veggie-forward recipes to traditional "hippie health food"—from smoothies to salads to grain bowls—giving the genre a playful and delicious update, amping up the colors, textures, and flavors, and adding her own innovations, challenging our expectations about what "health food" can be. Jess will be in conversation with local author Michael Hebb.
Reservations are non-refundable and include a signed copy of the $35.00 book. Applicable sales tax and a $0.75 transaction fee are also included. Can't attend but still want a signed book? Order here for shipping or in-store pickup.
About the book: Jess Damuck shares more than 100 of her favorite easy, vegetable-centric dishes, which include just an occasional bit of meat, dairy, or decadence. These recipes are doable for any busy weeknight, or perfect for a dinner party, including dishes such as: Jicama, Basil, Avocado, and Sprout Summer Rolls, Roasted Cauliflower Flatbreads with Spicy Tahini and Sumac Onions, and Crispy Rice and Spicy Salmon Bowls with Quick Pickles and Greens! This book is all about making simple, irresistible food that you'll want to eat again and again. When good-for-you food tastes like this, it’s pretty easy to be a health nut.
About the author: Jess Damuck is the author of Salad Freak. She has worked with Martha Stewart as a food editor, producer, food stylist, and personal salad maker, including on VH1’s Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. Damuck has also worked at Bon Appétit and the Food Network. She lives in Los Angeles.
