Want to master a versatile flaky pastry crust that will bring beauty and flavor to your dinner table? Look no further! In this class, students will learn how to create both sweet and savory galettes, using a variety of flours, all from scratch. We will practice making an all butter pie crust, and then fill it with seasonal delicacies, which we will then devour! The class will incorporate lots of hands-on work so please bring an apron, if you have one at home. Students will leave with their very own disk of flaky dough, created in class, along with recipes and step-by-step instructions to use at home.
Menu includes: savory whole wheat galette with homemade ricotta, asparagus, leeks, and mushrooms; sweet galette with homemade almond frangipane, and rhubarb; arugula and radish salad with herbs, almonds, and parmesan.
