Hands-on class. Includes dinner.
In a country where the winter is a long, and very dark, affair, it's no surprise that the summer solstice is one of the most important Swedish celebrations, a time to honor the longest day of the year. Known as midsommar, just like many other Swedish holidays, it's full of good, seasonal food. Come join Fika author Anna Brones for a midsummer-themed class and dinner, where you'll learn a few Swedish classics to put on your table to celebrate summer solstice, including gravlax (cured salmon) and a cardamom strawberry cake. In true midsummer spirit, we'll also be sampling some aquavit!
The menu includes: Homeade Gravlax, Rye Crispbread with Herb Butter, Marinated Cucumbers with Dill, Swedish Potato Salad, Pickled Herring Cake, and Cardamom Strawberry Cake.
Class is limited to 10 students. Please note that reservations are non-refundable.
