Cooking Class: Food Lover on a Budget-Potatoes!

Demonstration-style class with some hands-on participation. Includes dinner.

Join us for a delicious and informative night that will help you to eat better on a budget! We will explore the humble potato as a nourishing and affordable solution to great dinners at home. We'll learn about the different types of potatoes--from starchy russets to waxy french fingerlings--and how to most effectively employ each type to bring out its natural deliciousness. We'll discuss potatoes as a powerful tool for the budget cook, and learn strategies for eating well for less, including budget pantry essentials, the art of freezing, and the continuous kitchen philosophy. The menu includes: potato and black bean tacos with salsa verde; mash aloo (Indian mashed potatoes); and basil, tomato, mozzarella potato gratin.  .

Class is limited to 10 students.  Please note that class reservations are non-refundable.
