Is there any more delicious way to enjoy the season's best vegetables and fruit than wrapped in buttery pastry? If you want to be able to enjoy a perfectly flaky and seasonal meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you can! Kaitlin Benjamin will teach you to craft your own all-butter pastry dough, and then to properly roll, shape and bake two distinct delectable finales: a savory quiche to start, and a sweet fruit galette to end the meal. Kaitlin will help you troubleshoot common flaky dough problems so you can recreate these recipes with confidence. Students will leave with their own disk of flaky dough created in class. This class will incorporate lots of hands-on work, so please bring an apron. Menu includes: corn, chard, and gruyere quiche; pan-roasted green beans with golden almonds and shallots; pear galette with almond frangipane.
