Ottolenghi fans rejoice--he is finally coming to Seattle! We are delighted to team with the Stroum Jewish Community Center to welcome Yotam Ottolenghi and Helen Goh to the SIFF Cinema Egyptian as we celebrate their new book, SWEET. When Ottolenghi started out in the world of cooking, he says he was “firmly on the sweet side. I trained in patisserie, and my first job in the kitchen was as a pastry chef.” Known for his inventive, vibrant savory and vegetarian dishes, as well as his London delis and fine-dining restaurant, NOPI, Ottolenghi found a sweet collaborator in Australian pastry chef Helen Goh, Ottolenghi's head of product development. Now they are sharing Ottlenghi's secrets, creating 120 recipes for making the very best baked goods, desserts, and confections in SWEET.
Yotam and Helen will be in conversation with the Seattle Times' Rebekah Denn, sharing stories of their culinary backgrounds and unique partnership. Rachael Coyle and the team at Coyle's Bakeshop will have a selection of treats from SWEET on hand for purchase that evening, so you can try the book's flavors right away. And you'll take home a signed copy of SWEET, included with the event ticket.
Doors for the talk will open at 6:45pm, and additional signed copies of SWEET as well as other Ottolenghi cookbooks (including Jerusalem and Plenty) will be available for purchase so you can get a jump on your holiday shopping. You can even pre-order a signed copy of any of Yotam's books here for pick it up at the event, just type "Event Pick Up" in the Order notes Field.
Join us for an evening of SWEET conversation with the most some of the most fascinating voices in food today.
Ticket includes a general admission seat at the author talk and a signed copy of the $35 book. Please note that tickets are non-refundable.
